Why Some Temptations Only Show Up When You Rise

Why do some temptations only show up after you rise? In this video, we look at Romans 7, where Paul admits there is an enemy he can't cast out with a command: the flesh. The flesh can stay quiet for years. Then a promotion, a platform, or a season of plenty arrives, and what was always there begins to show itself. We walk through Solomon, Samson, Abraham, the fed crowd, Israel at the golden calf, and David on the rooftop to see the pattern. Then we look at the way through: humility, submission, and a cry for mercy. Bartimaeus, the prodigal son, Mephibosheth, and Esther each show what mercy does and why it should never be forgotten after you rise.
