Why Everybody Loves Jenifa Is A Beautiful Disaster 💀 (Honest Review)

Did Funke Akindele give us a Nollywood masterpiece or a 2-hour brand activation? In this episode of Honest African Trailers, we dive deep into Everybody Loves Jenifa (2026). Visually, it's a billion-naira dream—but script-wise, it’s giving "Narrative Obesity" and aura farming. In 2008, Jenifa was a cultural movement. Fast forward to today and Everybody Loves Jenifa has the best cinematography Nollywood has ever seen, but the story is stuck in traffic. From random drug cartels in Ghana and domestic violence plots to a record-breaking number of celebrity cameos (Hilda Baci, anyone?), the movie feels more like an Instagram attendance register than a coherent film. Is Funke Akindele’s latest project worth the watch, or should you just dust off your old Jenifa's Diary Season 1 DVDs? Let’s talk about the "Aesthetic Bait" and find out if this movie is all vibe and no substance. What did you think of the movie? Did the jokes hit for you, or did you get second-hand embarrassment?
