Peaceful campsite, spectacular views of West Highland coast near Handa Island Suits Tents, Caravans and Motorhomes, with many pitches in an elevated position overlooking the coastal horizon from the edge of the bay so everyone has a view of the sea. A short walk along the shore footpath leads to a small sandy beach. This coastal camping and caravaning site is in the centre of Scourie village itself which has a Hotel and Restaurant and the Shorehouse Seafood Restaurant is nearby overlooking the Handa ferry. Trips to Handa Island on the ferry run daily in the season from 9:00am to 2:00pm (last ferry out – weather permitting). The best time to see the Puffins is May, June and July, but there is much to see on the water, on the Island and above in the other months. Scourie is a village on the north-west coast of Scotland, about halfway between Ullapool and Durness. It is in the civil parish of Eddrachillis, in the traditional county of Sutherland, now part of the Highland council area; the 2011 Census classified it as "very remote rural" with an adult population of 132.
