Cotswolds Enchantment: Discovering Sandy Lane's Thatched Cottages

Join me as I walk down Sandy Lane Chippenham in the Cotswolds, a stretch of road known for its picturesque collection of English thatched cottages. These chocolate box cottages offer a glimpse into rural life and traditional building techniques that have been preserved over centuries. Thatching, the process of building a roof with dry vegetation, dates back thousands of years and is a key feature of these cottages. The thatched roofs provide excellent insulation and add to the buildings' aesthetic appeal with their unique textures and patterns.
