Late September brought heavy rain, but it didn't stop us from traveling nearly 150 kilometers from Shirahama to Nachi Mountain in Wakayama. We braved the weather for one reason: to stand before Nachi Falls, the largest waterfall in Japan. Surrounded by the misty UNESCO world heritage shrines and the iconic pagoda, we instantly felt the deep, spiritual peace of ancient Japan. Walking through these sacred grounds, where incredible architecture was built nearly two millennia ago, brings profound perspective. Witnessing such timeless beauty makes you realize how small we are compared to the majestic power of nature.
