How did EUV lithography move from laboratory images to high-volume chip manufacturing? This video follows the engineering behind 13.5 nm light: laser-driven tin plasma, multilayer mirrors, vacuum optics, photoresist chemistry and precision wafer stages. It explains why useful light output, contamination, stochastic defects, throughput and availability all had to improve together. From early test images to volume production in 2019, the central challenge was making the entire process repeat reliably. Scientific illustrations are conceptual reconstructions; enlarged patterns and optical effects are not to scale.
