Did you know that our feet are part of our core? In this video we talk about the role of our feet in relation to our movement, mobility, and core strength (an area that's nearly always overlooked in the fitness industry). All information taught in this video is directly pulled from the Barefoot Training Specialist program created by Podiatrist and Human Movement Specialist, Dr. Emily Splichal, Founder of the Evidence Based Fitness Academy. Be sure to attend an EBFA workshop. Sign up at http://www.ebfafitness.com All movement starts with our feet. The foot is our only connection to the ground and relationship between the foot and the ground is very important. With every step we take, we take in energy and release energy. Our ability to use energy "efficiently" is paramount to our movement. We can actually use our feet to strengthen and stabilize our core and - the more stable our core, the more better we use energy and the better we "move." Watch and learn about a very simple technique called "Short Foot" that we can use to strengthen our feet, stabilize and strengthen our core, and improve our movement. In this video, we learn exactly how to do Short Foot. In addition, we will add Short Foot to an exercise called the single leg squat. This gives the viewer an introduction to using Short Foot in an exercise and movement. In our next video, we'll be using Short Foot throughout an entire workout!
