Sex Wars - Game Show KPIX 5 CBS February 9, 2001 with original ads

Here's another lost late night game show. This one, Sex Wars, aired in syndication from October 2000 through September 2001. This airing was picked up on KPIX 5, the CBS affiliate in the San Francisco, CA area. It aired after The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. Commercials are included, though one was muted due to copyright. VHS was found at an estate sale in the region and is the first tape using my newly acquired Panasonic PV-9664 VCR, which is doing wonders for the encoding quality. ‪@GameShowGumbo‬ has a fantastic write-up of one of the few extant episodes available online at http://gameshowgarbage.com/ind251_sex... The premise of a men/women rivalry is an overused and unfortunate take, though as a way to get a bunch of young adults hyped up, it works very well. Maybe it's because I spent many early evenings watching Street Smarts with my mom in that time period, but I don't hate Sex Wars. Everyone involved is having fun, especially the studio audience. Regardless of the rules, it's still entertaining to have on, and way more exciting than Tele-Quest.
