The Best Battlefield Experience Ever

I’ve had the idea for this video in the back of my mind for years, but never quite saw it through. With Battlefield 3 turning 15 today, it felt like the right time to finally bring it all together. The video opens with DICE’s Karl-Magnus Troedsson calling Battlefield 3 “the best Battlefield experience ever” during its E3 presentation in 2011, a statement that became the central idea behind this tribute. The video follows Battlefield 3 through its release and DLCs in chronological order, before slowing things down for a short sequence of campaign cutscenes. Multiplayer gradually starts creeping back in from there; the official material begins to give way to community footage, and eventually the video shifts completely into the Battlefield 3 that many of us remember playing, filled with ridiculous shots, chaotic moments, and clips from some of the best players the game has seen. All of the community footage comes from our old Terra Uncut montages: Contact, Avange, Trajectory, Rebirth, and Fragshow #16. From there, the video becomes less about how DICE presented Battlefield 3 and more about what the community turned it into. Chaotic, epic, fragmented, and full of those unforgettable moments that made the game so special, flaws and all. :D If you played BF3 back then, I hope this brings back some of that feeling. And if you didn’t, maybe it shows a little of why people still talk about it the way they do.
