A rare visitor cruised into Petone today - a leopard seal sleeping right in the middle of the dog‑walking zone. It made the National Radio, and was drawing a large crowd of people. Luckily, I was already in the area with my trusty camera... Leopard seals are powerful Antarctic predators, but every so often they choose New Zealand's coastline for a rest.
