The North did not. Torrhen Stark marched south with a massive Northern army, only to kneel before Aegon rather than face Balerion, Vhagar and Meraxes in battle. But was surrender actually necessary? In this video, we examine whether the North could have realistically resisted Aegon the Conqueror, looking at Northern geography, climate, castles, manpower, logistics and the difficulty of using dragons in a prolonged campaign beyond the Neck.
