While older characters are receiving buffs and teams from previous regions are still perfectly viable, there's definitely been a significant rise in the dps floor since Fontaine/Natlan, and aggressive regional shill mechanics are steadily becoming the norm in Onslaught... Anyhoo. Grandpa is arguably one of the harder bosses in Onslaught thus far. He starts off with high resistances that get lower after you break his ice sculptures, which are particularly vulnerable to Stellar Glimmer reactions. Upon breaking, each sculpture does 500k retaliation damage to him. The geezer has 12 million HP in Fearless and nearly 30 million in Dire. However, he takes the same amount of damage from destroying the sculptures in both difficulties. Stellar teams like Sandy, Vesna, Mizuki, Rizzly, and Cyno excel here, but you can also brute force it with Lunar teams like Nefer, Zibai, and Flins or any high dps team like Mavuika. The cryo shill robot makes a return and is pretty much the exact same as before. We have a few more options this time around, including Sandy, Vesna, and Varka. The usual popular picks like Skrik and Ayaya still work like a charm. You can also use Natlan characters like Mavuika and Chasca, just watch out because it gets enraged by Nightsoul. Finally we have mom-- uhh, not-Pavlina. She has two big things to look out for: her attacks that inflict cryo and the cryo shield she puts up at 80% HP and periodically afterwards. The shield is vulnerable to Stellar Glimmer reactions, but can also be whittled down with regular reactions like pyro. Pretty much any Stellar, pyro, or electro team can work well here. Popular picks include Mavuika, Sandy, Flins, Vesna, Varesa, even Klee. Shoutout to Amber who's particularly goated at breaking the cryo shield.
