Mercury in Scorpio & Retrogrades 2026: What Will Be Unearthed

Mercury enters Scorpio on September 30, 2026, kicking off a transformative transit with Venus Retrograde (October 3) and upcoming Mercury Retrograde cycle (October 24). As Mercury navigates Scorpio alongside a Mars square in Leo, and a Pluto in Aquarius T-square shadow material and relationship dynamics come into question: how you merge power, resources and energies, how you negotiate intimate bonds, and how you share what you have. Venus turns retrograde at 8° Scorpio on October 3, and Mercury joins her there on October 6–7, at the place where your desire and your words meet. What you hold in the depths can rise to be communicated: memories kept below the surface, grief that hasn’t yet found its voice, emotional wounds carried and needing to be integrated. Your relationships can be empowered through conversations that reveal what is truly needed and wanted. Mercury squares Mars and Pluto in a fixed T-square on October 2. You are entering risky, edgy territory, where courage and creative daring in your expression opens new directions. The pressure creates the gem! A sextile to Black Moon Lilith in Capricorn opens the roads for you: alive, bold directions in how you speak, and the power of using your voice. Lilith challenges the traditions and power structures that limit the feminine, and the witch wound comes forward to be healed. Mercury's retrograde stays within Scorpio from start to finish, a cycle that returns you three times to the same degrees of your chart to complete this deep excavation. He passes through the heart of the Sun on November 4, and Mercury and Venus station direct together on November 13.
