From 2000 to 2025, this is the race for who actually pumps the world's oil — measured in thousands of barrels per day, not in dollars.
Only liquids count here: crude oil, condensate and natural gas liquids, as each company reports them. The combined oil-and-gas figure that companies also publish would roughly double these numbers, so it is not used.
Where the race ends in 2025: ExxonMobil 3,330 kb/d, Petrobras 2,400 kb/d, Chevron 2,300 kb/d, ConocoPhillips 1,700 kb/d, TotalEnergies 1,530 kb/d, Shell 1,490 kb/d.
Data: company annual reports filed with the SEC (Form 10-K, 20-F and 40-F operating statistics).
Which name here surprised you the most?
