I'm So Tired - TBRB Custom DLC Preview

“I’m So Tired” was written by John while experiencing bouts of insomnia during the band’s retreat to Rishikesh. The lyrics focus both on his difficulty sleeping (in contrast to his earlier ode to slumber, “I’m Only Sleeping”) and on his burgeoning fixation on Yoko. John also references Sir Walter Raleigh, an English explorer commonly credited with introducing tobacco to England; hence, John curses him after having “another cigarette.” The band recorded the entire song, overdubs and all, in an overnight session from October 8–9, 1968, during which they also worked on “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill”. The basic track, including lead vocals, was recorded live, while additional vocals, guitars, and drums were overdubbed along with electric piano and keyboard. The finished song shifts between mellow verses and rocking choruses, bolstered by John and Paul’s powerful vocal performances. Download now and join the band in their spirited quest for rest!
