A Mother's Wish is from Mark Ford's #MarimbaBaby: A Songbook for the Intermediate Marimbist published by Musicon Publications - https://musiconpublications.com/produ... The main theme is a simple melody that my wife, Ewelina (and co-composer), hummed as a lullaby to our daughter Emily when she was a baby. It was a beautiful connection. I decided to develop this music by composing a short "theme and variations" version for marimba to be included in #MarimbaBaby. Unfortunately time ran out when I was recording the music from the book for the publication release and A Mother's Wish did not get recorded. So during this 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic I decided to record it in our living room. Enjoy!
