My retractable attic stairs

This is a homemade set of stairs going up into my attic in my garage. rectangle tubing, angle iron, and plywood treads. It folds up to about 4 1/2 inches down from the ceiling. 32 inches wide with a home made hoist mechanism that would make Rube Goldberg shake his head in disbelief. The machine is made almost completely from recycled gearboxes from garage sales 10 years ago, connected together with motorcycle chain, with an old garage door spring mechanism to help with some of the weight. All powered by a small reversible electric motor from a hospital bed. Geared down 192 to 1 it cranks at about 8 RPM. Video of this Frankenhoist mechanism in action to follow.
