Police have launched a high-profile investigation into the abduction and sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl while she was on her way to school in Mineral Heights, Clarendon, on Tuesday morning. Reports indicate that the child exited a taxi at the entrance to the Mineral Heights Housing Scheme when she was approached by a man who allegedly convinced her to enter his vehicle. She was reportedly taken to a neighbouring community and sexually assaulted before being returned to the vicinity of her school. The child managed to reach the school and alert staff about the incident.
