Paper lanterns still burn along the levee, and the smoke from the last shell drifts low over the water, catching the light in long grey ribbons. The stones hold the heat of the day; the grass is bent flat where everyone sat. Somewhere downstream a small boat pushes off, and the river carries the sound of it away. A little black cat steps out from the folded mats and walks the levee like it owns the whole night. Golden eyes catch a floating ember, follow it across the dark water, and lose it in the smoke. She settles on the warm stone, tail curled, in no hurry at all. The music matches the hour: a deep sub-bass rolling like slow current, warm baritone vocals sitting far back in the mix, dusty Rhodes chords and analog tape hiss drifting through like the last of the smoke. Ninety minutes of unhurried grooves for working, reading, or doing absolutely nothing. If this riverbank is your kind of night, please hit Like and Subscribe. It helps more than you know.
