Can a goldfish learn to drive? The fish-operated vehicle paper, explained

Can a goldfish learn to drive? Scientists put a goldfish's tank on wheels, in the middle of a dry room, and handed the steering to the fish. Then they set out to test whether it was really finding its way, or just repeating a routine. In this video we explain the paper "From fish out of water to new insights on navigation mechanisms in animals" by Shachar Givon and colleagues, published in Behavioural Brain Research in 2022: Givon, S., Samina, M., Ben-Shahar, O. & Segev, R. (2022). From fish out of water to new insights on navigation mechanisms in animals.
