Walkaround, features, and test drive of this fabulous: 1976 Opel Manta B 1.9S in rarely seen condition. With only 55,000 km (35,000 miles) on the odometer, it’s barely broken in. Its incredible, unmolested, original, and never-restored condition is truly unique — very few Mantas remain that come even close to this example. Imported from Sweden to Denmark in 2014 with just 33,000 km (21,000 miles), the previous owner gave the car an extremely high-quality, flawless repaint to match its otherwise outstanding condition. A drive in this car really gives you an idea of how well they were built — well-handling and surprisingly refined overall, even with a relatively conservative drivetrain and chassis by European standards. Data on this car: Engine: R4, 1900 cc, 90 hp Transmission: 4-speed manual, rear-wheel drive Fuel consumption: 12.7 km/l (30 mpg) Weight: Net: 1100 kg / Gross: 1410 kg (2500 / 3200 lbs) Towing capacity: 1300 / 500 kg (2800 / 1100 lbs) with/without brakes The Opel Manta A was produced from 1970–1975 by GM subsidiary Adam Opel AG in West Germany and was imported to the US, where it was sold through selected Buick dealers. The Opel Manta B was produced from 1976–1988, with a facelift in 1982. This generation was never sold in the US due to a stronger D-Mark and increasing costs.
