Nursing Home Workforce and CNA Career Advancement: What Can We Do Together?

Learn how nursing homes can strengthen CNA career pathways through partnerships and other professional growth opportunities. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) are essential members of the nursing home workforce, providing the relationship-centered care that residents rely on every day. However, nursing homes across the country face challenges in recruiting and retaining a strong CNA workforce. September is National Workforce Month, and we invite you to join us as we discuss opportunities to further support the CNA. During this Coalition Conversation, participants will learn about the Moving Forward Coalition's collaboration with Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Programs (GWEPs), efforts to support CNA career opportunities, specifically through an apprenticeship program, and key insights from a national convening on CNA career pathways.
