Built by Kotschenreuther Forst- & Landtechnik in Bavaria on a John Deere chassis, the K240R pairs the tractor unit with a detachable 16-ton Kotschenreuther timber trailer on bogie axles. The combination is registered as an 8x8 all-wheel-drive vehicle, giving it forwarder-level traction in mud, slopes, and thinning corridors where conventional tractors get stuck. The specs: an Epsolution S110 off-road forwarder crane mounted on the tractor with up to 10 meters of reach, a 2 x 8-ton Adler double-drum winch, a 3.8 m² load grid, and a 15-ton payload on the trailer. The forestry cab has a swivel seat for reverse drive, and the machine is armored underneath — underbody protection, tank guards, and polycarbonate windows built for falling branches and flying debris. But the wildest spec isn't on paper: the K240R can run fully unmanned by remote control. The operator stands clear with the transmitter while tons of German steel drag timber out of the cut alone.
