TURINA - Scene Andalouse for solo viola and Piano Quintet

A few years ago I recorded all of Turina's music for violin and piano for Meridian Records. I then discovered his wonderful chamber music so a second CD was made. Turina is lesser known of the Spanish composers but I think under-rated. The Scene Andalouse - a two part Serenade - is a wonderfully evocative work wherein the solo viola part played exquisitely here by Philip Dukes represents an Andalucian lover. Crepuscule du Soir (twilight) sets the romantic scene while A la Fenetre portrays a lover's exchange 'at the window'. This is part of a 2 CD series of Turina's works I recorded with Meridian records and various artists.
