LECTURE—Opening Conversation for 'On Location: Drawing the Outdoors' (LIVE)

Join us for a special evening celebrating the opening of our special exhibition "On Location: Drawing the Outdoors," in which you’ll journey to the 19th century, when European artists stepped outside the studio, explored locations on their walks and travels, and captured their experience in drawings and watercolors. What do their images tell us about working “on location”? Exhibition curators will discuss the techniques, logistical challenges, personal ambitions, and audience expectations that shaped landscape art of the time. "On Location" features drawings by J. M. W. Turner, John Constable, Gustave Courbet, Edouard Manet, Berthe Morisot, Paul Cézanne, and Vincent van Gogh, among many others.
