Genesis Chapter 3 Meditation & Devotional Reflection

Dear Heavenly Father, We come before You with the scriptures of Genesis Chapter 3 to meditate and pray. We ask that the Holy Spirit open the eyes of our hearts so that we may understand and live out the truths contained within.Genesis Chapter 3 records the account of our first ancestors falling into sin. Many of us have heard the story of how our first ancestors ate the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Let us reflect on this chapter together:Note that "knowing good and evil" does not mean a person will choose good and reject evil. Instead, because humans think they know, they become prouder, more self-centered, and more inclined toward a life of sin. Living forever in a state of sin is not a blessing; it would only result in bringing eternal harm to the world, hurting both others and oneself. Verse 23: So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. Verse 24: After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life. However, this was only a temporary measure for that time, separating sinful humans from a holy God. We know that those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ today are blessed, because Revelation 22 verse 14 states: "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city." Although we cannot fully comprehend what eternity will look like, we look forward to that day with faith and hope through confession, repentance, justification by faith, the indwelling of the HolySpirit, and salvation through rebirth. We know that being in the Lord will be far better than anything else. We offer our meditation and prayer in the victorious name of our Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
