In this video, my mum takes me on an unforgettable tour of the home where she grew up in Kenya and remarkably, the place is still standing almost exactly as she left it. She walks me through the compound, shows me her old bedroom, and shares memories from her childhood on the family farm. This land carries deep history: my grandfather's farm was once used by the British as a model, and today both of my grandparents are laid to rest on the very compound where my mum was raised. Watching her reconnect with this place....nostalgic, and full of stories, was one of the most meaningful moments of our journey through Kenya.
