🦅 Welcome to the Historic Eagle Nest Cam at Pine Island Raptor Watch. You're watching a historic Bald Eagle nesting site on Pine Island, Florida. For more than 20 years, Bald Eagles nested in this tree and raised their young above the Pine Island landscape. Then Hurricane Ian destroyed the nest, and the eagles did not return. In September 2026, we placed a new starter nest in the original nesting tree, giving Bald Eagles an opportunity to discover and rebuild the site they once called home. Our PTZ camera allows us to observe the tree from a distance without approaching or disturbing the wildlife. Most of the time, we'll keep the camera focused on the historic nest, but we may occasionally move it to follow interesting raptor activity around the property. Will the Bald Eagles return? We don't know. They may investigate the nest. They may add sticks and make it their own. Another raptor may show up first. Or the tree may remain quiet. Nature gets to decide what happens next. We're simply here to watch. Follow along throughout the nesting season as we document Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Great Horned Owls, and the incredible wildlife of Southwest Florida. Same tree.
