Alaska Energy Training Group: Weatherization and Energy Rater Training

The Alaska Energy Training Group is a quarterly meetup of energy professionals facilitated by REAP's Alaska Network for Energy Education and Employment in partnership with the Denali Commission. The group’s mission is to improve coordination and collaboration in training, troubleshooting, workforce development, and technical assistance programs and investments throughout Alaska. On Dec. 3, 2024, the group heard from three experts about training tools and technology in weatherization and home energy rating and retrofit work: Alaska Housing Finance Corporation energy specialist Kevin Blackwell, Cold Climate Housing Research Center project coordinator Rosa Vogel, and longtime energy rater Emmett Leffel.
