Mindful Hand Sewing For Relaxation And Calm

#stitching #meditation #mindfulness Doing a bit of slow stitching always relaxes me and gives me time to think things through and be in the moment. #embroidery #slowstitching #fabric Ive been thinking about starting this project for quite a while and today seemed like the perfect time to start. I was going to make one then show you how to do pages etc, instead I’m just diving in and starting with no real plan 😊 I got my pile of scraps, quickly chose a few related colours and cut squares of cotton fabric, turned on my camera and just started stitching. I am calling this my meditation book - just small pieces i will stitch together with no expectations of how they are going to turn out ! I will be just letting my mind wander, pick up any scrap from my pile and stitch it down. Using mainly just a running stitch maybe adding embellishments if i feel inclined, this project is totally doable by beginners and anyone who wants to experience a few minutes of mindfulness in a busy life. I am one of those people who cannot relax enough to actually meditate and stitching is the closest i get. My friend Jovi has a mindfulness series every week which inspired me to finally start this project, I have no expectations, no rules and although i think i will be making a book from the pieces that may change ! Enjoying the process is more important to me than the finished results. If would be interested to know your thoughts on this idea, is mindful stitching something you practice already?
