ここは”別世界”…1200年の聖地・高野山へ 神秘に触れる一泊2日の旅/ A Journey to Koyasan, a Sacred Site with a 1,200-Year History

約1200年前、弘仁7年（816年）に弘法大師空海が開いた真言密教の聖地、高野山。世界遺産に登録された名所も多い。また、豊臣秀吉などの戦国武将にもゆかりのある地。弘法大師の教えに触れ心身を癒やすとともに、戦乱の世を偲ばせる素晴らしい旅ができます。 高野山までは新大阪駅から地下鉄や電車、ケーブルカーにバスを乗り継ぎ約2時間半かかりました。今回は「壇上伽藍」「金剛峯寺」「奥之院」を中心に回る一泊二日の旅でした。宿泊は宿坊で、阿字観や朝勤行、護摩祈祷など神秘的な体験もできました。肉や魚を使わない精進料理も彩り豊かでヘルシー。奥之院ではナイトツアーも参加。肝試しのような雰囲気もあり楽しめます。（2026/6/29-30） Koyasan is a sacred site of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, founded approximately 1,200 years ago—in the seventh year of the Konin era (816)—by the monk Kobo Daishi (Kukai). It is home to numerous sites designated as World Heritage treasures and holds deep historical connections to Sengoku-period warlords such as Toyotomi Hideyoshi. A visit here offers a wonderful journey where you can heal your mind and body through the teachings of Kobo Daishi while reflecting on the turbulent era of the warring states. The trip from Shin-Osaka Station to Koyasan took about two and a half hours, involving transfers between the subway, trains, a cable car, and a bus. My itinerary spanned two days and one night, focusing on key sites such as Danjo Garan, Kongobuji Temple, and Okunoin. I stayed at a shukubo (temple lodging), where I enjoyed mystical experiences like Ajikan meditation, the morning service, and the Goma fire ritual. The shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine)—prepared without meat or fish—was both colorful and healthy.
