Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge has officially confirmed the arrest of an individual in Kalaburagi over suspected links with terror groups. The high-profile operation was executed jointly by the Central Intelligence agencies and the state police department.Based on intelligence inputs regarding association with terror elements, two suspects were initially detained for questioning. Following rigorous interrogation, it was confirmed that one of them was in constant touch with terror operatives, leading to his formal arrest.Authorities have identified the arrested accused as a native of West Bengal. The state government has taken this security threat with utmost seriousness and is coordinating closely with central agencies for further probe. While acknowledging that people from other states migrate for employment as part of their rights, the Home Minister noted a lack of proper background verification by local employers. He pointed out that several industries and businesses employing outsiders have failed to provide mandatory worker details to the authorities.
