How to Build a 400-Foot Tower Crane in Downtown SF

#construction #architecture #engineering #building #renovation #towercrane #builder In the third chapter of our video series for UC Law SF, Plant Construction Company, L.P. and our design and trade partners install a 430-foot tower crane to drive the seismic retrofit of the century-old 100 McAllister landmark. The three-day process involved street closures, bus wire removal and reinstallation, assembling multiple cranes to erect the tower crane (including one the largest crawler cranes in the country), and custom-designed tower tie-in support structures within the building. Eleven months of intense planning culminated in a flawless erection of the crane.
