Bhanwari Devi Bishnoi was murdered on the night of July 27, 2026, at Jambheshwar Nagar in the Lohawat police station area. She was sleeping outside her house when an unidentified masked attacker assaulted her with a sharp weapon. Her two daughters were also attacked and injured. One of the major angles investigated by police from the beginning has been possible family rivalry. During the early investigation, Bhanwari Devi’s jeth Hetram, his wife and other family members were taken into custody for questioning. However, questioning or detention does not establish that a person committed the crime.
