Imagine never charging your phone again. What if scientists invented a compact nuclear battery that powered phones, electric cars, homes and entire cities for decades?
This is a science-fiction thought experiment. The battery in this video does not exist. We look at how it would change smartphones, electric vehicles, factories, remote villages, medicine and space exploration, and at the real nuclear batteries that do exist today (radioisotope generators on spacecraft like Voyager and Curiosity, and tiny betavoltaic cells). Then we face the hard truths: finite fuel, radiation safety, security, recycling, and the laws of physics.
