I traveled to the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat - the world's largest salt desert. The endless white horizon is breathtaking. But behind that beauty is a world most people never get to see. What I discovered: Gujarat produces 70% of India's salt - and it all comes from here Salt farmers called Agariyas dig 50-ft wells completely by hand They sell 20 kg of salt for just ₹10 - while we pay ₹20 for 500g Entire families of 7 live in single rooms with no electricity And salt farming here has been technically illegal since 1973 I walked on salt fields so sharp they cut through your feet. I stayed in a local home, ate food cooked on a clay chulha, and sat by a bonfire at night listening to farmers talk about a future they are terrified of losing. The Rann of Kutch is one of the most stunning places I have ever seen. But its people are what will stay with me forever. This is the real story behind every pinch of salt you have ever used.
