As the 20th Asian Games continue in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, here is the Asian Games 2026 medal tally and country rankings for October 2, 2026 (Day 13), highlighting the changes from the end of Day 12.
Day 13 has been an action-packed day at the Asian Games, with significant medal gains and several major changes in the overall rankings. China strengthened its lead at the top, increasing its gold medal tally from 154 to 162 and its overall medal count from 288 to 316. Japan also had a huge day, adding 13 gold medals and increasing its overall tally to 240 medals.
South Korea and Uzbekistan also made strong gains, while India was one of the biggest movers of the day. India climbed from 8th to 5th after adding six gold, three silver and three bronze medals, taking its total to 16 gold and 76 medals overall. Kazakhstan also moved from 9th to 8th after adding three gold medals and 13 medals overall.
Iran moved up to 6th after adding three gold medals, while Thailand added three gold medals and two bronze medals but moved from 6th to 7th as other countries made larger gains. Bahrain dropped from 7th to 9th, while Malaysia climbed from 11th to 10th after adding three gold medals and six medals overall. Hong Kong also moved up from 12th to 11th, while North Korea slipped from 10th to 12th.
In East Asia, China, Japan and South Korea continue to dominate the top of the standings, with Hong Kong, North Korea and Chinese Taipei also making significant contributions. Chinese Taipei moved from 16th to 15th after adding one gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
Central Asia remains strongly represented through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, alongside Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. Uzbekistan added four gold medals during Day 13, while Kazakhstan's strong performance took the country to 77 medals overall.
In Southeast Asia (SEA/ASEAN), Thailand remains the highest-ranked nation in the region, followed by Malaysia and Indonesia. Malaysia made a notable climb into 10th, while the Philippines also moved up from 18th to 16th after adding one gold, three silver and two bronze medals. Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei also remain represented across the standings.
West Asia continues to have a strong presence through Iran and Bahrain, while Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Oman and the UAE are also on the medal table. Saudi Arabia added a gold medal and moved up from 24th to 22nd, while Jordan climbed from 27th to 26th after adding two silver and two bronze medals.
In South Asia, India was the standout story of Day 13, climbing three places from 8th to 5th and strengthening its position among the leading nations. Sri Lanka remains on one gold and one silver, while Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh continue to be without a gold medal.
There were no new entries into the medal table during Day 13, with the same 40 of the 46 participating nations and teams continuing to have at least one medal.
With another action-packed day now coming to a close, the Asian Games 2026 medal table has seen some major changes from the end of Day 12. Several nations made significant gains, while the battle for positions throughout the middle of the rankings became even more competitive.
