Ever wondered what goes into a big commercial job? This one takes you behind the scenes of our work at the brand new Imagine That in Wigan's Grand Arcade. It started when the owner of the Grand Arcade got in touch to reinstate the gas plant on the roof. We ran a new two-inch gas main, got the air handling unit back up and running, and teamed up with a controls specialist to finish it off. From there we were asked to handle the full plumbing fit-out for Imagine That, the kids' sensory and science play centre moving into the old Marks and Spencer unit. I take you through the final stages on site: installing the water services for the big sensory water fountain, fitting kitchen and catering sinks, hiding the pipework behind the walls, putting in a lifting station and water heaters in the plant room. Jack and Kieran handled the plumbing (until Kieran got called off to an emergency, because even in summer, we're reactive). Then I took my own kids down to test it out, slime, bath bombs, science and all. This is the commercial side of Ace Gas NW, the bigger plumbing and gas work most people don't see us do.
