Foray on Great Sword can be FUN in Monster Hunter Wilds

Foray on Great Sword isn’t meta and admittedly, it’s not the most consistent option either. But when you build around this skill correctly, it can still be effective and most importantly, it’s fun to play around with. Foray increases attack power and affinity against large monsters affected by poison or paralysis. At level 5, Foray grants attack +15 and affinity +20% against large monsters affected by poison or paralysis. With my build setup and with foray active, I can reach 95% affinity on weak spots and easily over 100% affinity on wounds. I decided to test my foray build against a ⭐️9 Tempered Doshaguma and the main issue with foray is maintaining it. ⭐️9 and ⭐️10 monsters have increased resistances to statuses and it becomes harder and harder to proc a status after you get it off the 1st time. Which is why I opted for the Rathian GS with its skills of critical status and poison duration up with an addition of my Palico using a paralysis weapon to try and maintain foray as much as possible. The build is shown at 10:28. What do you all think? Are you interested in giving foray on GS a chance? Let me know in the comments and thank you so much for watching! Happy Hunting!
