What did Lewis see in Plato? | Further Up, Further In Ep.1

At a key moment in the Chronicles of Narnia, CS lewis references the Greek philosopher Plato to explain what is going on in the "deeper country." I explore some how Plato describes two realms: the visible and the intelligible. All we experience in the visible realm finds its existence in a source outside of itself. Christian thinkers, for example Augustine, have long seen synthesis between a lot of Plato's work and theological understandings of God. I propose that Plato's thought perhaps sits better when understanding the role of art, fantasy, and literature in understandings of God.
