$2500!? This Toy JUST ISN'T RARE! Change My Mind...    / @kimazn   www.instagram.com/toyattics www.instagram.com/kimazn Welcome to the wildest night of the year for vintage toy collectors—the infamous Toylanta Lobby Swap, where collectors flood a hotel lobby late at night to buy, sell, and trade some of the rarest action figures you’ve ever seen. This isn’t your average toy convention. This is underground vintage plastic dealing at its finest. And in true Toy Attics fashion... we got swept up in all of it. This video kicks off with Seth from Sasquatch Toys showing us an in-box TMNT Dino 4-pack—a holy grail set that instantly kicks our nostalgia into overdrive. But the real chaos begins once we step into the lobby swap. We meet a collector who unknowingly tries to sell me a Stretch Leonardo Ninja Turtle—the exact same figure I had just bought at Daniel’s Toy Empire in Ventura, California. It’s one of those perfect toy hunt moments that feels like fate messing with you in the best way possible. Then it gets even wilder. That same collector pulls out the notorious Scratch the Cat, the most overhyped figure in the entire Ninja Turtles toy line (yes, I said it). I hesitate. Ryan from Toy Federation walks up and calls the price out. Then, right before my eyes, another collector swoops in and buys Scratch on the spot—just like that, gone. But hey, I didn’t walk away empty-handed. I picked up a Leonardo wristwatch video game, the kind of weird 90s merch that makes collecting fun. And later, while cruising the hotel’s room trades, I stumbled upon a Goosebumps board game that my brother and I played as kids. The only problem? I didn’t have cash. Thankfully, Ryan once again steps in as my personal toy banker and buys it for me. And just when you think the story is done—Aaron from Dallas, a fan of the channel, shows up at the end of the night. He didn’t buy Scratch, but he did buy everything else... including the Stretch Leonardo, giving us a perfect full-circle ending to this crazy ride. But here’s the twist: Aaron has invited us out to Dallas to film his 2,800 square foot vintage toy collection. And we’re also trying to finally make our way to Sarge & Red’s Toy Store in Detroit—one of the best vintage toy stores in the country. If you’ve got a product, a toy line, or a YouTube channel and want to sponsor one of these trips, reach out! We’d love to work with people who love this world as much as we do.
