Narrow mountain road in the Catalan Pyrenees, from the Sallente dam high in the Vall Fosca down to the village of Espui, driven in a Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 on a summer morning. 16 minutes of hairpins, a rock tunnel and golden light in 4K, with pure ambient sound: engine, asphalt and mountain air. The Sallente reservoir feeds one of the great hydroelectric works of the Pyrenees — the road down was built for the dam, and it shows: carved into the rock, barely wider than the van.
