Cleveland Way 2026 - Stage 18 - Scalby Mills, Scarborough to Scarborough Spa

@raymondcarrickclevelandwayfare A video journey taken from a first-person perspective, of The Cleveland Way, a long distance National Trail located in North Yorkshire, England. During 2019 and 2020 I set off to do a video record of the entire Cleveland Way to, hopefully, provide any prospective walkers with a informative and up to date guide of the route. I enjoyed it so much I've decided to do the walk again, though this time with the help of my son Tom and a GoPro Max 360 camera. With a higher viewpoint and a 360degree view, it captures more detail of the terrain we are walking through. The new series of videos will also update any changes which have occurred during the last five years and replace some missing sections in the 2019-20 walk. This is the 18th video in this new series, Stage 18 - Scalby Mills to Scarborough Spa. Starting at the Old Scalby Mills pub we visit Scarborough Sea-Life Centre before walking along the promenade to the Peasholm Gap. Here we follow two alternative routes. The first, follows the official Cleveland Way route of Royal Albert Drive and Marine Drive, around the Scarborough Castle headland, to end at the Luna Amusement Park. The second route follows a high level path, across the headland, passing the Castle entrance, before dropping down through Albert Park to Luna Park. The route over the Castle headland was the path taken when I did the Cleveland Way in 2019 - 2020 and I have used the original footage, reprocessed and stabilised. The weather on this stage was poor so the extra footage included, was a reminder of how Scarborough is in the height of summer. Two other slight variations in the route are also shown but both run parallel with the official route. We end the walk at Scarborough Spa, the starting point for our final stage to Filey.
