Become the Hidden Hero in your community | Northwest Task Force

Hidden Harm is what happens when the child's mum or dad drinks too much or uses drugs, and it makes things hard at home. People don't always see what's going on, so they don't know that a child needs help. These children feel scared, sad, or like they have to take care of everything themselves. It can affect how they grow up, how they feel about themselves, and how they get along with other people. Even if no one sees it, it still hurts. By volunteering as a sports coach, you become a hidden hero in a child's life, providing stability, support, and a sense of belonging that can help shield them from the silent impact of hidden harm. The North West Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force works across Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim to reduce the harm caused by substance use, and to support the people affected by it.
