The action follows allegations that 10 cents of government land, out of 45 cents recorded under Khata No. 304 and Plot No. 25, was encroached upon to construct the house and stalls. The administration had earlier issued 30-day and 3-day notices, and the eviction began after the notice periods expired. Tuna’s mother, sister and wife reportedly opposed the demolition, while women police personnel were deployed at the spot. Tuna Harijan is currently in jail and is reportedly facing more than 40 cases, including robbery and theft. Nabarangpur Sub-Collector, Tehsildar, Revenue Inspector and police officers were present during the drive, with one platoon of police force deployed to prevent any untoward situation.
