"As soon as you go in, you get a sense that you've been transported into another culture and another world" Victorian artist Frederic Leighton referred to the space created at his London studio-home as the ‘Arab Hall’. More accurately, the room reflects an inspiring blend of craft traditions from a range of regions and cultures - combining influences from the courtyard houses of Damascus, the palace of La Zisa in Sicily, and the Alhambra in Spain, amongst others. Hear what inspires and connects visitors to this unique space today, as we celebrate 100 years since Leighton's house first opened as a public museum. - With thanks to The Bright Blooms, Nayab Ahmed & Rambod Latifi.
