First time fishing Muriwai. No idea what to expect — just a rough west coast surf, massive workups, and the hope of a kingfish or snapper. Day 1 was all about learning the coastline. From reading the surf sets and timing my launch, to chasing gannets offshore and adapting on the fly when my reel failed mid-fight… this trip had it all.
