I Rode Mauritania’s Iron Ore Train… Biggest Mistake? 🇲🇷

The Iron Ore Train is one of Mauritania's main forms of public transport — a 2.5km monster that crosses the Sahara Desert, and one of the longest trains in the world. Every day, locals ride these open wagons across the desert. It's legal, established, and part of daily life here. This is Part 1 — riding the empty wagon from Nouadhibou to Choum. In the next episode, I ride it back on the loaded train, on top of the iron ore itself. This is the journey I've been building towards for this entire series. From Western Sahara to Nouadhibou, everything led to this — 12 hours in an empty iron ore wagon, crossing one of the harshest landscapes on earth, with nothing but a backpack and the desert around me. We travelled with local guidance and followed their lead. No stunts.
