The IWCR track from Ryde to Newport, opened in 1875, was built parallel with the IWR line to Shanklin and Ventnor as far as SMALLBROOK, then turned westwards to Haven Street and Newport. Throughout the intervening years there has been a junction between the two routes at SMALLBROOK, but no station. This short film is about the new station opened in 1991 to give direct access between the Island's two remaining railway lines, the electrified Island Line and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
