And with that, I'm done.
Well, there's still the final boss, and the Inners, but I'm still debating whether I should devote time to learning them or not. I've tried the final boss already, and it's a spectacle, but not fun. Yet to try the Inners, though I can't say I've got high hopes.
SSI here plays like a slower version of FtSoA's Ultimate Isshin. He's a pretty easy fight if you're familiar with Ultimate Isshin (which I am, I got a hitless too).
Overall thoughts on this mod? Meh, it's alright.
It's definitely a spectacle, but in my opinion, it has some very serious balancing and design issues that must be addressed if this mod wants to be "good."
I don't want to say outright that Rotomatic's design principles consist solely of Hype Moments and Aura, but playing through this mod, sometimes it really does feel that way. I haven't played the original Malevolence, but I've heard (and seen from videos) that it has the same issue too -- Hype Moments and Aura over actual fun gameplay.
